Other Almine Rech

Almine Rech will host Francesco Vezzoli signing his publication Museums of Tears on June 17, 2026, starting at 5 pm. The signing takes place during a free hop-on hop-off round trip on the Rhine River as part of Floating Pages, a temporary floating bookstore of new artists' books and an archive of prior titles. Conceived as both a publication and an autonomous artwork, Museums of Tears extends Vezzoli's 2024 exhibition at Museo Correr in Venice. Inspired by historical museum guidebooks and Carlo Scarpa's vision of the museum as emotional choreography, the book transforms the exhibition guide into a hybrid object blending scholarly document, fictional archive, and personal diary.

The Signal

The event underscores Vezzoli's continued focus on museums as sites of memory and artifice, offering collectors a portable edition that functions as an artwork in its own right. By staging the signing aboard the floating bookstore, Almine Rech signals an emphasis on experiential presentations that merge publication, performance, and site-specific engagement. This approach may inform acquisition strategies for artists working at the intersection of institutional critique and personal narrative.
