ARCOlisboa Closes Eighth Edition with Over 14,000 Visitors and Multiple Acquisitions
ARCOlisboa closed its eighth edition with 83 galleries from 17 countries reporting positive sales activity. The fair drew more than 14,000 visitors to the Cordoaria Nacional, aided by free admission for those under 25 provided by the Ministry of Culture. The Câmara Municipal de Lisboa acquired 14 works by seven artists including Gabriela Albergaria and Ana Jotta, while the ARCO Foundation purchased pieces by Carla Filipe, Marina González and Nana Mandl for the CA2M collection. Prizes went to Travesía Cuatro for best stand and Enhorabuena Espacio for the Opening Lisboa Prize.
The Signal
The results highlight ARCOlisboa's growing function as a platform that links Portuguese artists to international collectors and museums. New acquisition prizes from MACAM and MEXTO, alongside repeat support from the Lisbon council and ARCO Foundation, signal expanding institutional commitment to contemporary art in Portugal and reinforce Lisbon's position as a European meeting point for the sector.
