Artcurial to Offer Rare Toulouse-Lautrec Trial Proofs on May 20

Artcurial announced on May 19, 2026, that it will auction five trial proofs of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s lithograph 'La Femme à la Fourrure' on May 20, 2026, at 5pm as part of its modern and contemporary art editions and multiples sale. The proofs, which were destroyed by the artist after he selected the final impression, were later reassembled and laid down on wove paper. Acquired in 1978 in London at the Charell auction, they have remained in the same European collection ever since. The auction also includes works by Pierre Soulages, Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, and Francis Bacon.
