Barbara Kruger's exhibition 'The History of Tears' will open at the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection in Paris on October 7, 2026, and run through January 2027. Conceived for the museum's Rotunda and display cases, the installation features monumental quotations from George Orwell's '1984' and Aimé Césaire's 'Cahier d'un retour au pays natal' along Tadao Ando's curved walls, while twenty-four display cases are transformed into light boxes bearing Kruger's injunctions. The exhibition also includes the video work 'Power, Pleasure, Desire, Disgust,' first presented in 1996 at the Wexner Center for the Arts, now reinstalled in a new context. Matthieu Humery, photography advisor to the Pinault Collection, curated the exhibition with project manager Lola Regard.
