Bonhams to Auction 1977 Porsche 911S from TV Series 'The Bridge' at Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale
Bonhams will offer the 1977 Porsche 911S driven by detective Saga Norén in the hit Scandi-noir series 'The Bridge' at its Festival of Speed Sale on July 13 at Goodwood, with proceeds donated to the charity WaterAid by the producers Filmlance International and Nimbus Film. The car, imported from San Francisco to Sweden in 2009 and finished in Jäger Grun olive green, has become a cult icon among fans of the show. Sofia Helin, who plays Norén and serves as a WaterAid ambassador, said the sale supports clean water projects that can transform lives for as little as £15 per person. The fourth and final series of 'The Bridge' is currently airing on BBC Two.
The Signal
The sale of this television memorabilia underscores the growing market for pop-culture artifacts tied to beloved series, with the Porsche's provenance and charity angle likely to attract both collectors and fans. Bonhams, a major auction house with salerooms in London, New York, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong, is leveraging the car's cult following to drive interest in its annual Goodwood sale. The charity component, benefiting WaterAid, adds a philanthropic dimension that may also appeal to bidders seeking to combine collecting with social impact.
