Bonhams to Offer 30 Bob Ross Paintings in Series of Sales Beginning November
Bonhams will offer thirty original paintings by Bob Ross in collaboration with American Public Television throughout a series of sales beginning this November and through 2026. The first auction will take place on November 11 in Los Angeles, which will feature three of Ross' paintings, as part of Bonhams' California & Western Art sale. The remaining 27 works will be offered throughout 2026 at Bonhams salerooms in New York, Boston, and Los Angeles. All works are being sold on behalf of American Public Television (APT), which has pledged to direct 100% of its net proceeds to support APT and PBS public television stations nationwide.
The Signal
Bonhams holds the world auction record for Ross' work and the artist's market has been rising. The sale of on-air paintings with proceeds directed to public television is expected to draw strong bidding interest from collectors. The first lot, Winter's Peace from 1993, carries an estimate of $30,000–50,000.
