The Research Coordinator role at Christie’s will be exposed to the art world and auction industry through hands-on
experience
in the Impressionist & Modern Art Department. The
duties
are varied, and will follow the cycle of the sales calendar as well as certain
duties
to support overall department activity.
How You'll Make an Impact
Assisting Cataloguers and Specialists in researching works for valuation and upcoming sales. This includes, but is not limited to, provenance and exhibition history research, and undertaking literature checks Writing catalogue essays for publication Supporting gallery installation for auction previews, including compiling and mounting lot cards and taking installation images for each work Handling ad hoc departmental tasks as assigned by line manager
What You'll Bring to the Team
Research
experience
and interest in Impressionist and Modern Art Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal

Effective organizational skills, with the proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office (including Excel); familiarity in SharePoint and Canvas are a plus High attention to detail with reliable follow-through Ability to work independently and as part of multiple teams Exceptional client service Creative problem-solving
