Why This Role Matters
This role will support the business pipeline for Paris and other international sale sites, stronger sale performance, and broader revenue generation. It will also encourage better collaboration, more effective cross-selling, and a more coordinated approach to managing high-value clients. It will also identify where client relationships need to be enhanced be it new buyers or next generation art collectors.
Key Responsibilities
Sale Support & Departmental Partnership Provide strategic support for non-Marquee sales : African & Oceanic Art, Design, Photographs, Collections, and Asian Art sales held in Paris. Partner closely with specialist departments to support sourcing initiatives, client targeting, and business-getting efforts. Deliver pre-sale and post-sale analysis, debriefs, and client insights to help maximise sales performance and identify future opportunities. Client Strategy & Relationship Management Conduct regular reviews of key clients managed by Department Heads, working collaboratively with Client Strategy teams to ensure clients receive coordinated and best-in-class coverage.
Identify opportunities for cross-department engagement and facilitate introductions to relevant specialists and business areas. Support the development and implementation of tailored engagement strategies for priority clients, collectors, and prospects. Sourcing & Collection Development Provide departments with client intelligence, market research, and strategic data to support sourcing and consignment acquisition efforts. Lead bi-annual reviews of significant collections across the French regions, identifying opportunities for future engagement and potential consignments.
Monitor and assess key collections, estates, and market opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up and appropriate internal coordination. Buyer Development & Next Generation Engagement Identify and review new buyers based in France, developing targeted strategies to support their collecting journey and deepen their engagement with Christie's. Work closely with the Paris team focused on Next Generation clients, ensuring emerging collectors are connected to the right specialists, events, and opportunities. Support initiatives designed to attract, retain, and develop future generations of clients.
Events & Client Engagement Oversee the planning and execution of museum-based events across France that fall outside the remit of the French Directoire. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure events align with broader client development objectives and deliver meaningful engagement opportunities. Provide administrative support for the Paris-based Client Management Consultant responsible for top-tier clients. Regional Business Development Support the Head of French Regions in identifying priority markets, regions, and client opportunities across France.
Develop and maintain a strategic
overview
- of regional clients, collecting communities, and business prospects.
- Ensure key regional clients receive regular engagement and access to relevant Christie's specialists and initiatives.
- Data Management & Team Support Oversee the work of the department intern, ensuring high standards of delivery and professional development.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of client information within CRM and business management systems.
- Produce reporting, client analysis, and actionable insights to support departmental and business objectives.

experience
in client strategy, business development, relationship management, or a comparable role within the art, luxury, cultural, or professional services sectors. Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years'
experience
in a client strategy, business development, relationship management, or similar strategic role. Proven
experience
using client insight and relationship-building
skills
to support business growth, market development, and geographic expansion. Strong understanding of client development practices, stakeholder engagement, and commercial opportunity identification.
Experience
