Why This Role Matters
Christie’s is seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Graphic Designer to help shape and elevate the visual expression of one of the world's leading auction houses. This role combines strategic brand thinking with exceptional design execution across print, digital, and experiential touchpoints. The ideal candidate possesses a sophisticated understanding of branding, typography, visual storytelling, and contemporary design trends, alongside a deep appreciation for art and culture.
You will translate curatorial narratives, specialist expertise, and world-class artworks into compelling visual campaigns and brand experiences that engage audiences across multiple channels. Working closely with the Creative Director, Art Specialists, Strategists, and Editors, you will help develop creative concepts and design systems that extend seamlessly across art catalogues, magazines, printed advertising, merchandise, digital platforms, presentations, and other client-facing materials. This role requires both conceptual thinking and meticulous execution, with the ability to move confidently between campaign ideation, asset development, and production oversight.
How You'll Make an Impact • Contribute to and develop visual identities and branding systems for Christie’s collections, sales, and campaigns. • Create compelling creative across print and digital channels, including catalogues, magazines, advertising, social media assets, posters, invitations, web banners, presentations, and bespoke collateral. • Lead the design of art catalogues, publications, and special print projects from concept through final production. • Contribute to the art direction and development of design systems, typographic hierarchies, layouts, and visual frameworks that ensure consistency across campaign touchpoints. • Partner with copywriters, editors, photographers, retouchers, and specialists to create cohesive and engaging visual experiences. • Produce presentation materials, mockups, and visual prototypes to communicate concepts. • Prepare files for print and digital delivery while ensuring exceptional quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. • Liaise with print production teams, printers, and external vendors to manage proofing, materials, finishes, and final output. • Present creative concepts and design thinking clearly to internal teams and stakeholders. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high creative standards and meeting deadlines. • Stay informed on emerging design trends, branding, visual culture, digital experiences, publishing, and production innovations.
What You'll Bring
to the Team • 5+ years of professional graphic design
experience
within luxury, culture, fashion, publishing houses, museums, galleries, auction houses, or related creative industries. • Strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated visual sensibility and elevated design execution across branding, campaign development, print and digital marketing, social media, and editorial design. • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. • Strong understanding of typography, visual identity systems, layout, and visual hierarchy. •
Experience
designing across both print and digital channels, with an understanding of platform-specific best practices. • Knowledge of print production processes, materials, pint finishes, color management, and prepress workflows. •
Experience
communicating with external vendors, printers, and production partners. • Strong communication
skills
with the ability to present design concepts and articulate creative rationale to internal teams and stakeholders. • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and project management abilities. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and balancing multiple priorities. •
Experience
with image retouching, asset optimization, and presentation mockups. • Knowledge of Figma, Adobe After Effects, and motion design is a plus. • Passion for art, culture, luxury, design, and visual storytelling is a must.
