Dora Maar Cultural Center Presents Joanna Pousette-Dart Solo Exhibition in France
The Dora Maar Cultural Center at the historic Hôtel de Tingry presents Joanna Pousette-Dart: Shaping Light from 25 June to 27 September 2026. The solo exhibition features new paintings created for the show along with works on paper that respond to the light and color of the space. It marks Pousette-Dart’s first exhibition in France. The exhibition is curated by Frauke V. Josenhans, Deputy Director and Chief Curator at the Dora Maar Cultural Center, and is organized by the center with additional support from Lisson.
The Signal
The presentation at the 18th-century mansion, once owned by Dora Maar and later renovated by patron Nancy Brown Negley as a residency for artists and scholars, places Pousette-Dart’s work in a site with direct ties to surrealist history. For collectors and curators, the exhibition signals institutional interest in the artist’s light-based abstraction outside her primary New York gallery network and offers an opportunity to see site-responsive works in a non-commercial historic setting before any potential market follow-up.
