Pavel Ovchinnikov (1830–1888) was a Russian goldsmith and silversmith who founded his own workshop in Moscow in 1850. He rose to prominence by reviving traditional Russian decorative arts, specifically through the integration of intricate enamel work with silver and gold objects.
The firm became famous for its distinct style, which combined traditional Slavic motifs with high-quality craftsmanship. Ovchinnikov was appointed a supplier to the Imperial Court, producing elaborate tea services, ecclesiastical items, and decorative objects that are now held in major museum collections worldwide.
His legacy continues to be recognized in the international art market, where his pieces frequently appear in high-profile auctions featuring imperial Russian silver and decorative arts. His work remains a benchmark for the quality of 19th-century Russian metalwork.
