Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts presents "James Welling: Cento," an exhibition of more than 60 recent works by the photographer, on view September 25–December 12, 2026, in Fairfield, Connecticut. The show pairs photographs from Welling's Cento and Personae series with selections from the museum's historic plaster cast collection of Greek and Roman sculpture. Welling said he aims to "reanimate" the men and women of the ancient past, combining photography and painting in what the museum describes as elusive, haunting evocations of the ancient Mediterranean world.
