The 15th edition of Frieze New York closed at The Shed with 25,000 visitors and significant transactions, including two El Anatsui works sold by White Cube for a combined $4.1 million. The fair debuted the Sherman Family Foundation Acquisition Fund, which facilitated the entry of works by four artists into the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Other major sales included a Georg Baselitz painting for €1.4 million at Thaddaeus Ropac and a James Turrell light work priced near $1 million at Almine Rech.
