Galerie Max Hetzler Announces Tursic & Mille Catalogue and Commissions
On July 6, 2026, Galerie Max Hetzler announced a new catalogue for artist duo Tursic & Mille, published by JBE Books on the occasion of their solo exhibition at Carré d’Art – Musée d’art contemporain in Nîmes. The book features texts by Hélène Audiffren, Jean-Max Colard, and Jean-Marie Gallais, examining how the duo’s collaborative practice challenges painting conventions in an image-saturated world. The exhibition, titled "Dissonances à géométries variables," presents an unstable pictorial field of frictions and contradictions. Separately, Tursic & Mille have been commissioned to paint the ceiling coffers in the Council Chambers of Toulouse City Hall, in collaboration with architect Olivier Vadrot, with the work set to be unveiled in November 2025.
The Signal
The catalogue and exhibition underscore Tursic & Mille’s sustained critical engagement with painting’s role in contemporary visual culture, a theme that has defined their two-decade collaboration. The Toulouse City Hall commission marks a rare public institutional project for the duo, signaling growing recognition beyond gallery contexts. Their collaboration with Louis Vuitton on the Artycapucines collection further bridges fine art and luxury design, reflecting a trend of artists leveraging commercial partnerships to expand their reach. For collectors, these developments affirm Tursic & Mille’s standing as conceptually rigorous artists whose work resonates across institutional, civic, and commercial spheres.
