Exhibition Galerie Max Hetzler

On June 17, 2026, Galerie Max Hetzler reported that British artist Darren Almond’s work is included in the group exhibition Vexation of Spirit at Fundação de Serralves in Porto, drawn from the Duerckheim Collection and focused on religion, society and war. Almond created three permanent artworks for the new Bond Street station on London’s Elizabeth Line, with the largest, Horizon Line, comprising 144 hand-polished aluminium tiles. The gallery also presents Inflection Point, a 2022 site-specific steel installation at HETZLER MARFA, and a limited-edition double vinyl record pairing Almond’s abstracted numerical imagery with music by Mats Gustafsson.

The Signal

The announcements underscore Almond’s ongoing integration of time-based concepts into public infrastructure and remote landscapes, from the Elizabeth Line to the Texas grasslands. Collectors and curators can note the artist’s established presence in major collections including Tate, MoMA and the Art Institute of Chicago alongside new permanent commissions that extend his reach beyond traditional gallery walls.
