German Neo-Expressionist Georg Baselitz Dies at 88; Final Works to Debut in Venice
Georg Baselitz, the German artist renowned for his 'upside-down' paintings and leadership in the Neo-Expressionist movement, died on May 30 at the age of 88. His final series of paintings, titled Eroi d’Oro, is scheduled to debut at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice on June 6. Upcoming tributes include a major retrospective at the Sehwa Museum of Art and a solo exhibition at Thaddaeus Ropac, both slated for August in Seoul.
