Getty Research Institute Launches Digital Publication and Performance Series Dedicated to Avant-Garde Scores
The Getty Research Institute has released 'The Scores Project', an interactive digital and print publication documenting 11 experimental scores from the neo-avant-garde and Fluxus movements. The project utilizes Getty’s open-access Quire platform to present over 2,700 archival materials, original animations, and audio recordings featuring works by John Cage, Alison Knowles, and Benjamin Patterson. Accompanying the publication, Getty will host 'Poetry in the Garden: Scores' on April 12, 2026, featuring live performances and contemporary reinterpretations of these historical works.
