To mark the bicentenary of the birth of Gustave Moreau (1826–1898), the National Museum has invited American artist Ali Banisadr for a 'carte blanche' project at the Gustave Moreau Museum in Paris. The exhibition, organised in collaboration with Thaddaeus Ropac Paris, runs from 9 September to 7 December 2026 and features a body of work by Banisadr comprising paintings, bronze sculptures, and pastels, alongside earlier pieces. The show is conceived as a subtle dialogue between Banisadr's reflections and those of the Symbolist master, intertwining myth, memory, history, and imagination.
