The Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft, the patron association of Kunsthaus Zürich, elected Dr. Philipp M. Hildebrand as its new Chair at its 127th annual general meeting on May 30, 2022. Hildebrand, former Chairman of the Swiss National Bank and current Vice Chairman of BlackRock, received 63.4% of votes and will assume the role on July 1, 2022. The meeting also approved the 2021 annual report, which showed a 69% increase in visitor numbers to 382,603 compared with 2020, and a reduced operating loss of CHF –482,431. Membership reached a record high of 24,498 as of September 2021. The handover to incoming Director Ann Demeester, previously director of the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, has been brought forward to October 1, 2022.
