On September 14, 2026, Lisson Gallery announced the opening of 'Huguette Caland: A Life in a Few Lines' at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. The exhibition brings together approximately 150 drawings, paintings, sculptures and textiles, along with archival materials and ephemera, offering an expansive view of Caland's practice. Lebanese-born Caland (1931–2019) lived and worked in the US, developing a distinctive oeuvre that explores humor, language, gender, aging and physicality. The exhibition is organized by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, in collaboration with Deichtorhallen, Hamburg, and the Hammer Museum, and is curated by Hannah Feldman with additional consultation by Aram Moshayedi. It runs from September 27, 2026 through February 28, 2027.
