Museum M+

On May 27, 2026, M+ announced the M+ Cinema Summer Edition running from July to September 2026 at the museum in Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District. Tickets for major programmes are now available for purchase, with M+ Cinema redemption vouchers usable for selected screenings and ticketing details for the ASEAN Film Festival to follow in late July. The edition features Stair in the Dark—Big Leap Forward with three Kirsten Dunst films, Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests (1963–1966) and Sleep (1963) at the Grand Stair, Encore! Stair in the Dark Favourites screenings of Trainspotting, Twilight, Belladonna of Sadness and American Psycho, Rediscoveries of Jaws and Raging Bull, and the fourth ASEAN Film Festival focused on music and sound in Southeast Asian cinema.

The Signal

The summer line-up underscores M+’s strategy of embedding moving-image programming within its multidisciplinary collection and exhibition programme, giving collectors and curators direct access to canonical works alongside the concurrent Dial-A-Poem Hong Kong presentation. The ASEAN Film Festival component further positions the museum as a platform for regional cinema, spotlighting restored classics and emerging Southeast Asian voices through screenings, talks and listening sessions that may influence acquisition priorities and cross-border curatorial networks.
