Art Basel Names Paula Cooper Gallery Recipient of Inaugural Gallery Legacy Award

via Art Basel

Art Basel presented Paula Cooper Gallery with the inaugural Gallery Legacy Award on June 17, 2026, at the Art Basel Awards Medalists Dinner held at Safran Zunft in Basel. The gallery was selected by a nine-member jury of collectors and patrons including Füsun & Faruk Eczacıbaşı, Dana Farouki, Jill & Peter Kraus, Alan Lau, Michael Ringier, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, and Komal Shah for its sustained commitment to artists since its founding in 1968. Paula Cooper Gallery has represented artists including Sol LeWitt, Donald Judd, Carl Andre, Cecily Brown, and Tauba Auerbach, and has participated in Art Basel since 1999. As part of the award, Art Basel will contribute up to USD 50,000 toward Chapter NY's participation costs at the 2027 fair in Basel.
