Good morning. Sunday brings exhibition openings in Sharjah, Tilburg, and New York — but the Christie's Judd-led sale next month is the market anchor.

THE LEAD

Christie's Post-War to Present Sale Expected to Exceed $26.9M, led by Donald Judd Sculpture

via Christie's

Christie's announced its Post-War to Present sale, to be held live on October 1 at its Rockefeller Center saleroom in New York. The auction features 236 works from a diverse cross-section of post-war and contemporary artists, with a total presale estimate of more than $26.9 million. The top lot is a red anodized Donald Judd bullnose progression sculpture from the collection of Barbara Jakobson, estimated at $1,000,000–1,500,000. Other highlights include paintings by Sam Gilliam, Lisa Yuskavage, Wayne Thiebaud, and works from the esteemed collection of Dr. John T. O'Neal.

Christie's Post-War to Present sale, led by a Donald Judd sculpture, signals continued strength in blue-chip American minimalism at auction.
