The Facts
On October 22, 2026, ARCOmadrid and Casa Decor announced a renewed collaboration for the 2027 edition of the contemporary art fair, with Impar Design commissioned to create the interior of Hall 46. The fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID, will run from March 3 to 7, 2027. Impar Design, led by architects Almudena Vello and Joaquín Sanjuán, will translate their Casa Decor 2026 project 'The Journey of Smoke' into a warm, elegant event space featuring natural finishes, earthy tones, and warm lighting from HERA WALLS, RIBES & CASALS, JYSK, JUNG, and HÄFELE. The studio has participated in six editions of Casa Decor and brings a multidisciplinary approach to spatial design.
The Signal
The partnership underscores a growing trend among art fairs to integrate high-end interior design into the visitor experience, moving beyond standard booth layouts. For collectors and curators, the collaboration signals that ARCOmadrid is investing in the atmosphere surrounding the art, aiming to create a more immersive environment that may encourage longer stays and deeper engagement. Impar Design's scenographic style, honed at Casa Decor, offers a model for how temporary art fair architecture can build institutional identity and comfort without competing with the art itself.
