Art Basel Appoints Trevor Paglen and Eli Scheinman to Curate Zero 10 Digital Initiative in Basel
Art Basel has appointed artist Trevor Paglen and digital art strategist Eli Scheinman to curate the third edition of Zero 10 at the flagship fair in Basel. The initiative, focused on art of the digital era, will occupy the Event Hall on Messeplatz with 20 exhibitors and remain open to the public June 17–21, 2026, following a preview day on June 16. Participants include Hauser & Wirth, Marian Goodman Gallery, bitforms gallery, and HEK (Haus der Elektronischen Künste) in Basel, presenting 16 single and four shared booths under the theme The Condition.
The Signal
The placement of Zero 10 alongside Art Basel Conversations at the Swiss edition marks a deliberate expansion of digital programming into the core fair schedule after prior runs in Miami Beach and Hong Kong. For collectors and institutions, the move signals that digital and generative practices are now treated as a sustained platform rather than a satellite section, with Paglen’s institutional profile intended to bridge established and digitally native audiences.
