Auction Result Artcurial

Artcurial's prestige auction series, held July 6-8, 2026, at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, achieved a total of €16 million across sales of watches, jewelry, handbags, and sculptures. The auction saw 93% of lots sold. An F.P.Journe Centigraphe Souverain watch reached €317,760, while a Rolex Sea-Dweller COMEX 3497 formerly owned by France's first female commercial diver Muriel Sivazlian sold for €244,940. A Cartier demi-parure from circa 1955, from the collection of a renowned French actress, realized €390,580, and a pair of Art Deco earrings sold for €251,560 — over 31 times its estimate. A Hermès Birkin Himalaya 25 in white crocodile (2018) fetched €119,160. Among sculptures, Arnaldo Pomodoro's monumental patinated bronze (1964–67) achieved €890,910, and César's polished bronze (1965–1988) sold for €635,520.

The Signal

The strong sell-through rate of 93% and the multiple lots exceeding estimates by wide margins signal sustained demand across luxury collectibles — from watches and handbags to jewelry and sculpture — at the upper end of the market. The premium paid for provenance, such as the Rolex owned by France's first female commercial diver and the Cartier set from a French actress, underscores that collectors are increasingly valuing narrative and rarity over brand alone. The results also reinforce Monte-Carlo's position as a key venue for high-end cross-category sales, where watch, jewelry, and handbag collectors converge with fine art buyers.
