Bonhams to Auction Personal Collection of Marianne Faithfull
Bonhams will offer highlights from the estate of singer, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull in The Evening of the Day: The Estate of Marianne Faithfull, part of its Sound & Cinema auction. The sale runs from 25 November to 3 December on bonhams.com with public viewing at Bonhams Knightsbridge in London. Items include personal diaries from 1959 and 1989, a Marlene Dumas print inscribed 'Say it in Broken English' estimated at £2,500-3,000, a trunk once owned by Carrie Fisher estimated at £1,000-1,500, passports, fashion pieces, furniture and works of art with estimates ranging from £300 to £2,000. Rebecca Anthony, Associate Specialist in Popular Culture at Bonhams, and Nicholas Dunbar, Faithfull's son, provided statements on the collection.
