The Facts
Bonhams will auction a single lot of 204 bottles (34 cases) of 31-Year-Old Springbank whisky, distilled in 1994 and bottled in November 2025, with an estimate of £90,000–120,000. The sale, titled 'Distillery Icons: A Legacy of Excellence,' runs from 8 to 21 October on bonhams.com and features rare releases from distilleries including Glenfarclas, Highland Park, and Macallan. Patricia Byott, Head of Spirits, Scotland at Bonhams W&S, called the Springbank offering 'almost unheard of' and noted it is the first time Bonhams has offered a cask already bottled.
The Signal
The Springbank parcel, with original private-owner labels and documented provenance, underscores the premium placed on rarity and age in the secondary whisky market. As stocks of mature Springbank diminish, this lot offers a rare opportunity for a single buyer to acquire a complete, ready-to-collect parcel. The auction's broader selection of iconic whiskies reflects sustained collector demand for well-aged, heritage-driven bottles, positioning the sale as a benchmark for high-end spirits investing.
