The Facts
Bonhams will present The Bennett & Judie Weinstock Collection, a survey of interiors, furnishings, British ceramics, and decorative objects from the late interior designers Bennett (1940–2025) and Judie Weinstock (1940–2025). The collection, drawn from the couple's Philadelphia townhouse, will be offered in two sales: a live auction on October 20 at Bonhams' new U.S. flagship at 111 West 57th Street in New York, and an online sale running October 11–22 in Massachusetts. Highlights include an Important Whieldon Type Dovecote estimated at $40,000–60,000, a Five-Piece Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Garniture Set, Kangxi, estimated at $25,000–40,000, and a Staffordshire pearlware table base group titled "The Death of Munrow" estimated at $15,000–25,000. The collection also features seven Leeds pottery horses, over 150 teapots, and works by Daniel Quigley and James Pollard, alongside furniture and interior furnishings.
The Signal
For nearly five decades, the Weinstocks were leading figures in Philadelphia's design community and Architectural Digest AD100 honorees, known for interiors that married English country house elegance with vibrant color and historical reference. The sale offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire pieces from a highly curated, lived-in collection that reflects the couple's expertise in English ceramics, furniture, and decorative arts. The market for English pottery and decorative objects has remained steady, and the Weinstock collection's depth and provenance—coupled with the couple's reputation for bold, personal taste—may attract both seasoned collectors and those seeking historically informed interiors. The two-sale format, with live and online components, broadens access for bidders across the U.S.
