Exhibition Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection

On June 16, 2026, the Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection in Paris installed Cloud #07156 by Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya in the Rotonde as part of the Clair-Obscur exhibition. The site-specific fog sculpture employs high-pressure pumps and microdroplet pipes to fill the Tadao Ando-designed space with water vapor, causing silhouettes to appear and disappear amid uncertain contours. The work remains on view through September 14, 2026.

The Signal

The indoor presentation tests Nakaya’s five-decade practice of outdoor fog works against the fixed parameters of a historic rotunda, revealing how architecture can limit and redirect the ephemeral material. For curators and collectors the project demonstrates the viability of large-scale, environmentally responsive installations that invite physical traversal and personal metaphysical engagement while incorporating live elements such as Trisha Brown Dance Company performances.
