Born in London to parents of Pakistani descent, Haroon Mirza studied at Winchester School of Art, Goldsmiths College, and Chelsea College of Art and Design. He gained significant international attention early in his career, notably receiving the Silver Lion for Most Promising Artist at the 2011 Venice Biennale.
