Fondation Cartier to Present Ibrahim Mahama's 'The Harvest Season' Exhibition
On June 4, 2026, Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain announced ‘The Harvest Season’, a large-scale exhibition conceived by Ibrahim Mahama. The show runs 22 October 2026 to 28 February 2027 and occupies the foundation’s new Paris space with site-specific installations and new versions of Mahama’s iconic works. Nine artists and collectives with long-standing ties to Mahama are featured: Dorothy Akpene Amenuke, Gideon Appah, James Barnor, the Cercle d’Art des Travailleurs de Plantation Congolaise (CATPC), Courage Dzidula Kpodo, Zohra Opoku, Postbox Ghana, Tjaša Rener and Feda Wardak.
The Signal
The project positions Mahama as a central figure linking Ghanaian and international practices through sustained collaboration. Collectors and curators will note the foundation’s strategy of commissioning ambitious, research-based presentations in its expanded venue. The mix of established names such as James Barnor with collectives like CATPC signals continued institutional focus on intergenerational and cross-regional dialogues in contemporary art.
