Getty Center to Close for One Year Starting Spring 2027; Getty Villa to Remain Open
The Getty Center will temporarily close to the public from spring 2027 through spring 2028. The Getty Villa Museum will remain open with additional offerings during the period. The J. Paul Getty Trust operates both Los Angeles locations.
The Signal
The closure supports ongoing work at the Getty Center campus while preserving visitor access to collections and programs at the Villa. Collectors and curators planning research or acquisitions should account for reduced public hours at the primary Getty site over the two-year span.
