Getty Museum Acquires Dutch Still Life Paintings by Jan Davidsz. de Heem and Pieter Claesz
The J. Paul Getty Museum has announced the acquisition of two 17th-century Dutch still life paintings, marking the first works by Jan Davidsz. de Heem and Pieter Claesz to enter the collection. De Heem’s 'Glass Vase with Flowers and Fruit' (c. 1673-74) was recently rediscovered in a German private collection, while Claesz’s 'Still Life with Assorted Fruit' (c. 1622) was purchased at a Sotheby’s auction on February 5, 2026. The De Heem painting is currently on view in the Getty Center’s West Pavilion, with the Claesz work scheduled for display at a later date.
