On 14 November 2025, Hauser & Wirth activated its 18th Street gallery in New York with Learning Exchange: Artists Matter, the latest edition of the gallery’s annual convening dedicated to cross-disciplinary dialogue. Part of Hauser & Wirth’s ongoing Learning program, the event brought together artists and arts professionals for direct engagement with art. Artist Catherine Goodman opened the program with a walkthrough of her exhibition ‘Island’ in conversation with Anders Bergstrom, Director at Hauser & Wirth, discussing monotypes created during her residency at Universal Limited Art Editions. Artist Richard Jackson and Randy Kennedy, Director of Special Projects and Editor-in-Chief of Ursula magazine, continued with a conversation on creative practice, community and learning, including Jackson’s reflections on his relationship with Jason Rhoades and the Mountain School. The day concluded with a celebration at the Roth Bar.

The Signal

The Learning Exchange series positions Hauser & Wirth as a platform for sustained dialogue across institutions, having previously featured leaders from the Studio Museum in Harlem, Queens Museum, The Drawing Center, Brooklyn Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2024, as well as a Somerset conversation with Allison Katz and Frances Morris. For collectors and curators, the program underscores the gallery’s emphasis on artists’ direct voices in shaping discourse, with the next iteration scheduled for Los Angeles in 2026, extending its reach across Hauser & Wirth’s network.
