Exhibition Hauser & Wirth May 10, 2026

May 22, 2026 Hauser & Wirth Menorca presents an outdoor sculpture trail selected by artist Cristina Iglesias as part of the summer exhibition 'Directionless,' organized by Rashid Johnson. The trail features works by Ali Cherri, Mona Hatoum, Rayyane Tabet, Yto Barrada, Sigalit Landau and Latifa Echakhch installed across gardens, façades and pathways at the Menorca site. Iglesias invited the artists to engage with the Mediterranean location's architecture, water and landscape, including Mona Hatoum's 'Inside Out (Concrete)' (2019) at the landing dock and Rayyane Tabet's 'Elegy at Minorca' (2026) on a building façade.

The Signal

The presentation underscores Hauser & Wirth's strategy of commissioning site-responsive outdoor works that connect contemporary sculpture to historical and geographic contexts, offering collectors and curators insight into how galleries are expanding programming beyond indoor spaces. By foregrounding artists whose practices address displacement and shared cultural memory, the trail positions Menorca as a venue for exploring Mediterranean themes through public installations that invite repeated visitor engagement.
