Holy See Names 24 Artists for 2026 Venice Biennale Pavilion Curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Ben Vickers
The Holy See’s Dicastery for Culture and Education has announced 24 participating artists for its pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale, titled "L’orecchio è l’occhio dell’anima." Curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Ben Vickers in collaboration with Soundwalk Collective, the exhibition features new sound commissions and installations inspired by the 12th-century polymath Saint Hildegard of Bingen. The pavilion will be split between the Mystic Garden of the Discalced Carmelites and the Complex of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice, featuring the final work of the late filmmaker Alexander Kluge.
