Kunsthaus Zürich Launches 'Earth Talks' Series on Climate Protection
Kunsthaus Zürich launches the interdisciplinary 'Earth Talks' series from August 19 to September 23, 2021, addressing climate change through talks, a film premiere and audience discussions. The program features the Zurich premiere of the documentary 'The Great Green Wall' co-produced by Claude Grunitzky, a conversation with Norwegian author Maja Lunde on her 'Climate Quartet' novels, and panels on sustainable production with speakers including Kilian Wiget, Philipp Blom and Ursula Biemann. Events take place in the Chipperfield building garden, hall and festival hall, with livestreaming and limited capacity.
The Signal
The series positions the museum as a hub for cross-sector climate dialogue involving climate research, forestry, urban planning and philosophy, signaling institutional commitment to environmental topics beyond traditional exhibitions. For collectors and curators it highlights growing intersections between contemporary art institutions and sustainability discourse, potentially influencing programming and acquisition priorities at peer museums.
