At its 129th annual general meeting on May 27, 2024, the Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft, the supporting association of the Kunsthaus Zürich, approved the 2023 annual report and financial statements with an overwhelming majority. Paid admissions totalled roughly 340,000, while 150,000 visits were free, including 70,000 on Wednesday free-entry days. Operating losses widened to CHF 1,585,979 from CHF 1,410,285 in 2022, driven primarily by higher personnel and fixed costs following the 2021 addition of the Chipperfield wing, which nearly doubled exhibition space. Revenue for the year was CHF 28,607,985, nearly unchanged from the prior year. The museum acknowledged it was insufficiently prepared for the financial consequences of the expansion.
