The Facts

On October 2, 2026, Lisson Gallery announced that Lee Ufan's 'Fragments of Infinity' will open at Casa e Parque de Serralves in Porto on October 16, 2026. The exhibition, the artist's first major museum presentation in Portugal, brings together paintings and sculptures across the villa and surrounding park. Three sculptures are installed throughout the landscape, while six paintings—including a site-specific work—and three sculptures are presented inside the villa. On view through March 2027, it explores Lee's longstanding engagement with material, space and perception, rooted in his involvement with Mono-ha in late 1960s Japan.

The Signal

The Serralves commission places Lee's practice in direct dialogue with architecture and landscape, extending his inquiry into object and environment beyond the gallery context. For collectors, the site-specific painting and the park installations underscore the artist's institutional standing in Europe, while the Mono-ha framework adds art-historical depth. The presentation also signals Lisson's continued institutional push around a senior artist, offering audiences a rare chance to see Lee's work staged across an entire estate.
