Lehmann Maupin Now Represents Anna Park, Will Debut Her First UK Solo Show
The Facts
Lehmann Maupin announced on August 21, 2026, that it now represents New York-based artist Anna Park (b. 1996), who creates charcoal and ink drawings that blend abstraction and figuration. The gallery will present a new work by Park at the forthcoming Art Basel Hong Kong fair and will mount a solo exhibition of new work at its London location later in 2026, marking the artist's first solo show in the United Kingdom. Lehmann Maupin will collaborate with BLUM Los Angeles, Tokyo, New York to support Park. The announcement follows Park's solo museum exhibition "Look, look. Anna Park," which closed in September 2024 at the Art Gallery of Western Australia in Perth.
The Signal
Park's large-scale, satirical drawings often comment on the cultural commodification of women and societal pressures to conform to unrealistic beauty standards. Her process begins with improvisational mark-making that builds into figurative compositions evoking anxieties of popular culture, drawing from Cubism, Pop Art, and artists like Ed Ruscha and Barbara Kruger. Park earned her MFA from the New York Academy of Fine Art and her BA from Pratt Institute, and her work is held in collections including the High Museum of Art, Atlanta; Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The gallery's addition of Park signals a continued focus on emerging artists who challenge traditional perspectives on gender and identity, and her UK debut could strengthen her international market presence.
