The Facts
On October 29, 2026, Galerie Max Hetzler announced that works by Louise Bonnet and Liz Larner are featured in "In These Times", a group exhibition of recent acquisitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, on view from September 20, 2026 to January 3, 2027. The gallery also reported that Bonnet's painting "Projection 2" has been acquired by MOCA LA, and her "Pisser Triptych" by Moderna Museet, Stockholm, where her work is also included in the exhibition "The Art of Collecting" through May 9, 2027. Larner's sculpture "Reef" has entered the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, and her first UK institutional solo exhibition, "A hard line to bend", opens at Camden Art Centre, London, on September 11.
The Signal
The simultaneous acquisitions and exhibition placements reflect a significant institutional push for both artists, underscoring their growing relevance in contemporary art. For collectors, these developments signal strong market validation and suggest that works by Bonnet and Larner are increasingly sought after by major museums. The thematic focus on the body and abstraction in the exhibitions aligns with broader trends in the art world.
