M+, Asia's global museum of contemporary visual culture in Hong Kong, announced its Cinema Autumn Edition running from October to December 2026. The season centers on a retrospective of cinematographer Mark Lee Ping-Bing, featuring ten films spanning four decades, alongside 35mm screenings of Hou Hsiao-Hsien's 'Café Lumière' and Akira Kurosawa's 'Seven Samurai'. Other highlights include Mamoru Oshii's 'Ghost in the Shell' films tied to the museum's 'Myths and Monsters' exhibition, the 183-minute restored version of 'Kwaidan' (1965), and the new monthly series 'Stair in the Dark: Laughing Matters'. The programme also presents emerging Hong Kong filmmaker Jiang Wenjie's feature debut 'Almost Home' (2026) and a video artwork by Xu Bing on the Grand Stair until January 3, 2027. All nine M+ Restored titles return in 4K, following international festival presentations.
