National Gallery of Art Acquires Major Works by Barbara Kruger, Dan Flavin, and Salman Toor
The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., has announced the acquisition of several hundred works to expand its historical and contemporary holdings. Key additions include early American Civil War photography, 17th-century miniature paintings, and large-scale installations by Dan Flavin, Charles Gaines, and Barbara Kruger. The museum also acquired its first drawing by Giorgio De Chirico and introduced artists such as Salman Toor and Teresita Fernández to the collection for the first time.
