The National Gallery of Art has named C. D. Dickerson III as the new dean of the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, effective June 1. Dickerson, who joined the institution in 2015, previously served as senior curator of European and American art and head of sculpture and decorative arts. In his new executive role, he will oversee the Center's fellowship programs, research initiatives, and annual symposia including the A. W. Mellon Lectures in the Fine Arts.
