LACMA's Grand Opening Weekend Draws Nearly 80,000 Visitors to David Geffen Galleries

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) welcomed nearly 80,000 visitors over a five-day period from June 18 through June 22, 2026, as part of the Grand Opening Weekend for the David Geffen Galleries, the museum's transformative new building. On Saturday, June 20, more than 60,000 attendees participated in a free, campus-wide Block Party and The Art Parade, presented by East West Bank Foundation. The weekend also featured an edition of The Genesis Talks with Thelma Golden in conversation with Michael Govan, soccer watch parties, and mindfulness programs.
