Phillips' Modern & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in New York totaled $115.2 million, representing a 122% increase over the previous year's equivalent auction. The sale was 100% sold by lot and established new auction records for artists Pat Passlof, P.S. Krøyer, and Joseph Yaeger, as well as a record for any two-dimensional work by Lee Bontecou. Two works by Vilhelm Hammershøi from the Collection of Ambassador John L. Loeb, Jr. were acquired by institutions during the event.
