The Facts
On September 16, 2026, Sadie Coles HQ announced that the Museo Jumex in Mexico City will present 'Richard Prince: Tell Me Everything', the first major survey of the artist in Latin America. The exhibition runs from September 26, 2026 to February 7, 2027 and is structured around Prince’s iconic series 'Cowboys,' 'Girlfriends,' 'Jokes,' and 'Cartoons,' which span more than 40 years of his career. Curated by the artist alongside Museo Jumex Chief Curator Kit Hammonds, the show includes over 150 works from the 1970s to the present, also drawing from his early rephotography series 'Advertising' and 'Fashion,' paintings from 'Nurses,' 'de Koonings,' and 'High Times,' as well as sculptures from 'Hoods.'
The Signal
The survey gives collectors and curators a rare opportunity to assess Prince’s full trajectory within a Latin American institutional context, a notable expansion of his market and critical footprint outside the United States and Europe. For a market often centered on his 'Cowboys' and 'Nurses' series, the inclusion of lesser-known bodies of work may stimulate renewed interest in underappreciated segments of his practice. Museo Jumex’s commitment to mounting this comprehensive retrospective signals its growing ambition as a platform for major postwar and contemporary figures, and could influence how Prince’s work is positioned in the region going forward.
