On September 23, 2026, Galerie Max Hetzler announced that Sean Scully has been named an Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, one of France’s highest cultural honors. The artist’s work is also the subject of a solo exhibition, “Lines of Emotion,” at the Kunstmuseum Magdeburg.
