Serpentine Galleries Relaunches Retail Offer with Artist-Led Products and Editions
Serpentine Galleries has relaunched its retail offer across its North and South gallery shops, featuring an expanded range of artist-led products, limited editions, and collectors' items. The redesigned shop spaces were created by Beyond Surfaces, aiming to create a seamless connection between visitors and the institution's exhibitions and artists. The relaunch coincides with Serpentine's Summer season, which includes major exhibitions by David Hockney and Cecily Brown, a Pavilion by LANZA atelier, and a public artwork by Jesús Rafael SOTO. The online shop has also been rebuilt for faster and easier navigation.
The Signal
The retail expansion reflects Serpentine's strategy to deepen visitor engagement and generate revenue through exclusive artist collaborations. For collectors, the limited editions and bespoke merchandise offer accessible entry points to the artists' practices, from Hockney to the Jesús Rafael SOTO Estate. This integration of retail with the exhibition program aligns with a broader museum trend toward creating holistic experiences that extend beyond the galleries.
